Sweetheart Dance

The Sweetheart Dance was horrible for me. Marietta had a blast. The guy that she went with went all out for her. My boyfriend, EBB, who is opposed to gift giving because he is on a budget, didn’t even fold a piece of paper in half and write Happy Valentine’s Day on it. When we walked in the door with nothing in his hands, I made a face and then walked back into my room. He is such a jerk. He had the nerve to say, “You should respect my need to save money at this point and time.” I wasn’t even having that. The lousy buster could have made me something, but that is apparently too much like right.

The only reason I went to the dance after that was because Marietta had begged me to come with her.

I didn’t dance with EBB once while we were at the dance. He smiled as if it didn’t even matter to him.

Marietta was cool. She told me that I could go home if I wanted to, but I wasn’t going to leave her there with ole boy.

I’m glad she had fun, because I sure didn’t. It’s a wonder I even got EBB to pay for the tickets to the dance.

Don't Be Mad

My girl Marietta is mad at me because I fixed her up with this guy that she has a crush on in one of her classes.  We are having a sweetheart dance at the college.  Marietta has been saying that she wanted to go to the dance.  I was tired of hearing her say that she wanted to go.  I had my boyfriend talk to the guy that she likes.  He asked her if she wanted to go with him.

She tried to be mad at me, but she knew that it wouldn’t make any difference.

I got an A on my English paper.  I am glad because I worked hard on the paper.  My professor is a hard grader.

My boyfriend and I are going to the sweetheart dance together.  We are going to where red and white outfits.  I bet we are going to be the best dressed couple at the dance.
